Meter Reader

The City of Holdrege is currently accepting applications for a Meter Reader.  Applicants must be high school graduates legally authorized to work in the United States.  Meter readers are dedicated to accurately evaluating and interpreting customers’ meter information. Qualifications include, but are not limited to, the ability to walk various distances, climb and descend stairways, read and analyze meter data, work in a variety of weather conditions and maintain a cooperative attitude with co-workers.  The successful applicant will be self-motivated with good character, above average communication skills and be competent to remove and install various types of utility meters.
This position includes a forty-hour work week with a beginning salary of $18.06 to $24.64 per hour—commensurate with experience—and the possibility of overtime on nights or weekends. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave and holidays, as well as paid health insurance and a retirement plan.
